Carmen’s Union of the Boston Elevated Street Railway goes out on strike.

Some 7,000 members of the union go out on the strike, which takes place two days after a fare increase to 10 cents was announced. The strike ends on July 20, 1919. Garment workers, and actors also strike during the next few months.
